Rico Abreu Race Recap:
Rico Abreu, driver of the No. 98 Safelite/Curb Records Toyota Tundra, made his track debut at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Saturday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series UNOH 175. Starting from the 21st position, the Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender ran as high as second, battling a “loose” Toyota Tundra for a majority of the 175-lap event. Crew chief Doug George brought the No. 98 machine to pit road, for scheduled stops under caution, at lap 26, for four tires and fuel, lap 53, for fuel only, and lap 104, for four tires and fuel. Running solidly inside the top-20 for the second-half of the event, the ThorSport Racing driver crossed the stripe in the 17th position behind race winner, William Byron.
Rico Abreu Quote:
“We weren’t the best truck today – we missed it. We’ve had some fast trucks this year, we’ve just been inconsistent with the finishes. Hopefully, we can get better across the board – the truck needs to handle better, and I need to make better decisions on the race track. We’ll regroup, and hopefully capitalize on a strong finish in Vegas, I know that’s a big race for Safelite, and all their employees and partners.”
